You want to afford a better place of your own
So you work hard.
Buy/rent a good place.
In the current market situation, you probably cant afford if you dont work hard enough. That means putting in the extra hours in hope you will be recognised your efforts.
Extra hours = longer days in office = shorter days to enjoy your 'better place'
So what is a better place then?
Isnt it ironic? You work hard to afford what you cant even spend a decent amount of time in.

I forgot to mention this the other day.... I got this from Mr Grumpy. It was when we were arguing about something that I forgot then he presented me the cutest thing ever... the mashimaro with carrot. Between sniffles and sulks, I instantly grabbed it away from him and pretended Mr Grumpy didnt exist for awhile.

Suffice to say everything was better after that (because I forgotten what we even argued about).
The misconception about staying together is that you both get to see each other everyday and interact with each other every other day, have quality time blablabla.
The reality is
so not like that. It's when I want to spend sometime alone with Mr Grumpy on my holiday, I just want to spend some time alone picking his brain. Not with his family, or my family or his friends or my friends, or with the tv on, dvd, movies. etc. Just me and him picking his brain. In Singapore, I constantly have to fight for attention between his work (no arguements there) and the DVD player. Thats right. THE DVD player.
Many tend to take it for granted that, we'll be seeing each other every day, there will be time for some brain picking. But the truth is, there will never be time unless you both are on a holiday and there is nothing to do. But when that arises, we are back in KL entertaining friends, family, ex-colleague, running errands, getting things to buy to bring back (because the exchange rate is so attractive) etc.
So there are times where I just want to go out, have some drinks alone with him on MY HOLIDAY and MY TIME without any interference. Be it watching girls (yes me luv staring at girls), making lame jokes, or just arguing over nothing.
Many may argue, what about weekends? Weekends, we do the housework and I have to compete for attention with the DVD player remember? Yea life together is not without any difficulties. We are more stressed out there mainly cuz we are alone (together) and have to manage the finances, bills, household, etc ourselves. Plus Mr Grumpy worries himself sick when I am sick. It's a hard thing to be sick away from home if it is just the normal bout of flu. Yes we are thankful we have each other there, and by that we are thankful for the comfort we have here in KL with our families, never having to worry about stuff like that.
So yes, lovely as it may sound that we are building our lives together there, it's not a bed of roses.
So leave me alone when I say I want to go out with Mr Grumpy on my last day in KL. Most had their fair share of me the past week. Those who missed me, can catch me again in October... if missed again, December is also a good time. To a certain person who is sick of seeing me already, yes I know you will miss me and the word games we play *shakes head.. dont know how u think of that kind of game*.
Toodles.
Till KL again, next time.....
Before I begin that, I just would like to tell you I satisfied my hunger pangs of CHAR QUAY TIEW.
SLURPS.

Bangsar char quay tiew stall. Where I get my char quay tiew fix.

I only can fit into pants which are from MNG. Anyone else can suggest other brands that are similar to MNG size and cutting, please tell me. In the meantime, there is where I get all my supply of work pants. I dont know why other brands dont fit me as well as they do. I tried Marks & Spencer - Nope. Zara - Zilch. Naf Naf - Yucks. G2000 and U2 - HORRIBLE. Esprit - Not quite there.
MNG - Jackpot.
So being the MNG fan, I know my size and I know what I can get from there without trying out. SO. But pants is an absolute must to try. Eventhough they are MNG. So. My usual lookout size is this:

MEX 1 = USA size 2
So imagine my surprise when I had to fit on pants with the size MEX 3 (USA size 4). 2 sizes BIGGER!! I thought I grew fat within this one week gorging on wonderful Malaysian food while I was back in KL. Note to self: Go on crash diet.

I usually alter the length of the pants myself. So I took our my old MNG pants to measure. My old MNG pants (pictured above with the size) is still in brand new condition despite being 3 years old and have to put up with my constant abuse. That is why I love MNG pants and wouldnt mind spending on it.
Then out of curiousity, I measured the waist of the pants between the old and the new. Because the last I remembered, I could fit into my old MNG pants very comfortably about a week ago. So I compared sizes, and this is what i found:

The old pants is at the bottom. The grey is the new pants. OMG they are the same size!!!!!
SO get this. This is my conspiracy theory. Fashion pple out there are increasing the sizes of the smaller sizes (i.e. S size => M size) So that people will get conned upon seeing that they cant fit into the 'usual' size that they get, they diet sommore to fit into the 'original' size. Therefore even though they havent gained an inch of fat, they are led to believe that they 'grew' 2 sizes bigger.
Fashion is going to produce more skinny people.

I feel as though I'm not doing enough to make it through life. A friend just told me that she is being sent to the States for 2 weeks for an assignment.
Enter green monster of envy.
Then, I feel inadequate. Have I not done enough? Nevermind I just started working 2 months ago.
This is me. I was born to keep comparing myself to the best. And when I dont get the best, I feel like an underachiever.
Sigh.
The new neighbour (in my house in KL) has yet to move in, and I hate them already. They smashed up the whole of the house next door 6 months ago and has yet to complete now.
They are still drilling the house for goodness knows what.
I estimate they take 10,000 years to complete the damn house. How inconsiderate!! Last I checked they drill from 8am to 5pm NON BLOODY STOP! What? They assume noone will be in my house then? And its already been 6 months!!!!!
When they finish their renovation, we'll start ours.

Ok. Haze in KL is so not cool! I get lingering headaches and sinus problem most of the time! THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO SPEND MY HOLIDAY IN THE SICK BED!!
*cough*cough*
Ok, so the fact is KL is in a haze situation. FINE. As if things could not get grumpier. Today, I woke up to a lingering burn smell which choked my nose. Fine, its the haze, so went back to sleep. Woke up again, the burnt smell just got stronger. What the..?? U mean Sumatera is burning more trees and the wind just got stronger??? No it cant be... So I checked the sky, it was blue.. and not too hazy from the day I came back as it had rained few days ago. And the burnt smell does not smell like burnt leaves. It smelled like burnt metal.
*panic*
Does this mean my house is on fire? Or the neighbour next door. (My neighbour is having reno, they could easily get short-circuited for all I care but dont burn my house and me as well) So I went downstairs... followed the smell... and there it was... the burning gas stove.
SHIT!!!
My dad had forgotten to switch off what he was cooking before he went out for his morning walk!! LUCKILY it wasnt like bonfire burning burning, but the whole pot was gone. Sigh. There was a passing thought to quit my job and stay at home to prevent such accidents from happening again.... but that was just a thought... for another entry altogether.

MUAHAHAHAHAHAAH. I'm so going into denial and will not look into my credit card for one month (besides, I've already paid them off in full just now)! Mr Grumpy is so going to lecture me on the importance of saving and wasting money and whether I do need this stuff blablabla.. after he sees this. But but but .. just think how beautiful I will be u know... after the make up.. heheheheh *batz eyes*

Singapore has great food, mostly, you can get cheap cheap Japanese food, and other 'in-house' brand food. What I mean by that is you only can have great food in happening and classy restaurants.

Since I am a Japanese food nut, we went to this place called "Kuriya" which I have no idea what that means in Japanese. They just opened like 5 days ago when we visited. It's a new place in City Hall called "Market House" or something like that. They themed that place with full of fountains, which are really nice. The Market House that is. I think they have a fine dining restaurant there too, but we didnt step in there.

Fooooood.. yummm... They serve their sets with coffee and desserts. Cheese cake! However, I think the Japanese restaurant in Suntec City is better. I forgot what is the name. This one is so so only.

Next we have a group event in Ritz Carlton. We had buffet dinner which I bolot all the sashimi and cold cuts.. YUMMMM.... Mr Grumpy took a step further and ate raw oysters... not just a few shells.. BUT MANY shells. Trust him to do that and cleanse his bowels the next day. HAHAHAH serves him right for being such a pig.

What impressed me was, when I was back in KL, a simple group gathering consists of catering fried rice, with rendang, honey lemon chicken, maybe a few prawns, and fried beehoon. Here, we go to the Ritz Carlton and eat buffet of sashimi, king prawns, chilli crab, and practically every other dishes were cooked with scallops. Not to mention designer desserts which consists of the yummy choco fudge cake, cheese cake and even the cutest pink guava shaped cake. I didnt take picture of that cos I was too busy eating.. *urp* And the difference here is that, while we, Malaysians were like so astonished of the food being spread out, the Singaporeans were complaining about the lack of variety. It either shows that we Malaysians are so jakun, or Singaporeans are just plain fussy. Oh well, to me, it was a good dinner considering what we get back home.

We met up with another few ex-Malaysian colleagues who also came down to the Lion city to work. We went to this place that has an amazing night view of the financial district of Singapore. Guess what place is that.... a FOOD COURT in city hall. Trust Singapore to have that.

Financial District, the place where I work. This was captured towards the evening. Nice eh? It's very fast paced looking. Its also very fast paced in real life.

Mr Grumpy made me mad one day and.... he remembered that "Sorry no cure, ice cream got cure". And we ate this beautiful lamb chop in Swensens... yummzzz... and had ice cream later.
But I still miss Malaysian food. I hate Singapore hawker food. They cook mostly with sugar. Its sweet tasting. Its yucks.
Ok enough about food. One fine Sunday morning, Mr Grumpy's friends invited us to the Singapore Turf Club to see horse-racing. Imagine that they had to caution the guys to wear: Shirt, tie and suit. Girls cannot wear jeans. WHAT? SUNDAY AND NO JEANS??? THAT IS ABSOLUTELY BARBARIC! But anyway, we went and I adhered to the dress code. Imagine my shock that we were ushered to the VVIP area where wine and champange are distributed freely. Gosh, I feel so out of place. Anyway, I had great fun not being in the heat and having a superb view of the Turf Club.

It was so damn hot out, but I'm in the air-conditioned area. Nyeh nyeh nyeh.

Did your horse win? We stayed around for about 2-3 races. Mr Grumpy betted but didnt win any.. I didnt win or lose... because I didnt bet. HEH! I just watched horsies run, sit beside Mr Grumpy and look pretty. *batz eyes*

There was once the owner's horses won the race, apparently he won alot of money. Opened a champange and we all got to drink champange. I love champange. But in order to stick being sober, I reluctantly took a sip and a few to look 'sophisticated' and put back the half drunken glass of champange back on the waiter's tray. Sob sob sob. I could have gulped the whole thing down and stay happy for the next half hour or so. Btw, I am not an alcoholic. I just absolutely LURRRVVEE white wine and champange. I think it has to do with the weather. Weather here is too hot to have reds. Unless its a rainy day. I drink red wine and get a sinus problem. Ugh.

Oo.. is your horse going to win??
When I got back home in KL, I found this:

More kitties decided to make our home their home!
