One weekend, me and Mr Grumpy decided to go to Sentosa. We wanted to see what is all the hype and fun is about Sentosa.
Our day began when we decided to take the bus to Sentosa from our place. Bear in mind, transportation here is damn good and the only thing I dont have to complain about. Bus stops are like every 200 metres or so. Givng that in mind, the bus stops like every 2 mins or something. Result: 1 hour to get to Sentosa. ARGH! Lesson: Train takes you everywhere even though is more expensive. We took the train back. It is only half an hour ride. T_T
Anyway, once we reached the Harbourfront bus interchange, there was a free shuttle bus to Sentosa. We were like WOW. Damn cool. FREE SHUTTLE BUS.
But.. once we stepped into Sentosa soil...we had to pay an entrance fee of SGD3. Not too bad I thought... it consists of free shuttle to the various places around Sentosa.
Not too bad my arse.
The SGD3 is just to shuttle you around from one attraction to another. To go INSIDE that attraction, you need to pay AGAIN. EVERY ATTRACTION YOu HAVE TO PAY. The price for each attraction? Not less than SGD8 EACH. Here also got pple con you money. Want soft drink? SGD3.15. Convert that... RM7 bux for a soft drink. OI I not stupid. I can get half dozen of soft drinks with that amount of money.

Anyway, we didnt go inside any of the attraction places cos it costs too much.... so we resorted to hopping on the busses to get to one attraction to another just to take pictures. The beach is very nice and clean.. but filled with pple playing beach volley ball.
But this is the first time I saw a beach where you can swim to the tanker ships nearby (see pic on left). It is seriously damn near.
But its a good place to go.. lots of fun filled activities.. if you have the $$$$$$. BTW, Sentosa is still undergoing some construction "to bring more attractions to you". But seriously, Sentosa is so small, I wonder how much more attractions it can fit before the whole island sinks.

Another thing though, the greenery is fantastic. Despite the sun, its still damn cooling.. but humid.. if that makes any sense... hahahaha.... Also, true to Singaporean standards, you dont have to climb hills and mountains... they have escalators for you to go the peak. If that is not enough, you can go to the Carlsberg Sky Tower (and make your pocket SGD10 lighter) to see the view of Singapore. Its just a revolving lift to go about few hundred metres high. Trust me. Singapore is so damn small, all you will see is their port.
Wanted to go to the Underwater world. But I have to cough up almost SGD20 per person just to get into that acquarium. Although I heard its good. But still... SGD40 for 2 people just to see sharks, stingrays and fishes.... is too much. Sigh. Furthermore I have already been into it before. Oh well.. I never felt the pain when I wasnt paying it for myself. *heh*
So we just hung around for awhile and viewed the 'free preview' of the under water world:

This is actually a pond filled with turtle and fishes. On rare occasions, you can see a sting ray (below)

I am able to get some time to sit down and blog. Mr Grumpy is away.. heehheheheh...
A whole mess of photos that I finally uploaded:
1. Community Day
Our firm had this "Community Day" where the whole firm is closed for business and EVERYONE went out to do community work. This time, we are assigned to children who are disabled physically and mentally and took them to the zoo. For most of us, we treated it as though it was an outing... hehehehe....
The zoo is really well kept. And this is the first time I saw an 'open concept' zoo. Really. They have no cages for monkeys and tigers. One wonders how they are trained not to escape and not disturb the peace. They are freely swinging about around the trees and will never even dare go out of their confined area despite there is no bars or whatsoever to bar them from disturbing the peace.

p/s: only the elephant pic is fake....
2. Shopping
While waiting for Mr Grumpy to finish work one weekend (yes.. WEEKEND!) I went around shopping. After fighting the crowds and the general public (yes shopping here is very tiring when people are mostly in your way.. and I hate crowds) I decided to stop over Starbucks to get my much needed caramel frap. Then I spotted... TIRAMISU... and there was a disclaimer... (alcohol included)... WHOAH... I dont see this in KL. I must get one NOW. Note: I am not an alcoholic.

3. Food
We went to this place in Far East.. and saw they served something peculiar....
The place is called Hito or something like that. Its quite nice...

They serve it in a set.. and a set comes with:
More food! HAHHAHAHAHA I know I am being lame. Forgive me. When I took this picture, I didnt have broadband at home and I forgot what I took and when I took this picture.
Far East plaza. Where the famous teh-tarik stall.... frankly speaking.. despite this stall where I get my teh-tarik fixes... I still miss the Bangsar teh tarik... sob sob sob sob...
4. Training
One day I went for training. I know. Lame. But this training was different from the rest I have encountered. Not your usual classroom type of training. But more of participation type training. The training is called "Project Management". Why is it so different? Here is why...
The day started with rain. In this case, many people was late to work. And the trainer was pissed off. He said, "In order to project manage, you must be on time. When you wake up and see the skies gloomy, you should be able to anticipate that you will be late, you will have difficulty coming on time. Therefore you should be able to schedule your timing IN ORDER to come on time".
He goes on further to say "In order for me TO BE HERE, I have to wake up at 6:00 am, get ready for my son to be at school and arrive here at 7:30 to prepare the training for you guys. You, by coming in late, is a GROSS DISRESPECT and INSULT TO MY TIME"
WHOAH. Lucky I came in early man. It seems that he doesnt take any bullshit excuses like rain to be late. I guess what he said has some truth to that. How many people just take it for granted (like friends, partners, families etc) that the other party will be late? Then the other party takes it for granted that other people will be late as well. Therefore by making such thoughts, we in turn will be late. And there goes a vicious cycle of lateness. I hate that. I hate people who take it for granted that other people will wait for them with full of grace. I for one cannot stand people who say they will be like there in an hour, but actually be there 2 and a half hours late. Or even do not bother to call if they are going to be late. I hate it when people take it for granted to have telepathy to forsee that they are going to be late. It is as though I do not have any other things to do except wait for them.
If you are going to be late. Call and inform. If you are not able to make it. Call and inform. We live in a technological advanced era and have things like the MOBILE PHONE. 20 cents worth of call aint gonna kill you or your brain.
Anyway, digression. Point of story, be on time, if not call. This is a community message brought to you by http://where-dreams-take-flight.blogspot.com.
Back to the training....
We had lots of discussions and group participation, which I would normally like... but I had shit people in my group.... which unfortunately consists mostly people from other department, which we shall call.... 3KA.
There are 2 girls from 3KA that I especially hate from the begining she opened her mouth to me. 1. She never introduced herself before giving instructions, therefore I dont want to give her the priviledge of knowing my name either. 2. She gives instructions but never participates. Always say "I DONT KNOW" but when others give suggestions, she goes "I THOUGHT IT IS THE OTHER WAY" or "BUT, It is NOT LIKE THAT"
Bitch.
Why dont you just go throw yourself over the window.
Anyway, if that is not enough, she never wants to present, and always say I dont know how to present, etc etc, brings her work to the training (gross disrespect) and sits like a pasar lady (legs folded on the chair). OmG. Just to let you know, she sits right next to me and I can see her feet on the chair.
And if that is even not enough, she keeps checking her reflection on the mirror!!!!!!!!! SHE IS NOT EVEN WORTH TO LOOk ATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT... arrrrgghghghghghg. Wait... I mentioned 2 girls right? The other girl acts cute by making 'cute' faces in order to escape presentation, and then feigns cuteness (which by turn results in stupidity... cuteness should only be displayed in private/with people you know.. not your colleagues) that is so pukable, which makes me feel like pulling her teeth out. I know, being here doesnt make me any better for my anger management. They should hold that training just for people like me.
Cut long story short, the training was damn good. But those 2 girls had to ruin the whole 2 days for me. I dont want to go into the details of the training, cos that would be boring.

The bald guy is the trainer

The training room... with mirrors...

A and B are in a relationship.
If it is a big deal to A and it is not to B, is it still a cause for concern for A+B?
Apparently it is not. so says B.
And A goes on sulking, and the issue is NEVER resolved. A goes bitter, angry and dissapointed.
So.. is it still a concern then?
How now brown cow?

on my broadband @ home..
Only thing is that, I dont have much time or the mood to blog. *Pah* This post is just so that Blogger does not kick me off the register.
2 things:
1. Broadband
2. TV/DVD
the ultimate intamacy killer.
And its working
^_^ thought I'd share that. First it was the DVD. Now we have both. Sometimes its like, whoa, where did the time go? Then its time to sleep. No talk. No sharing. No seeing each other.
Note to self: Must talk to Mr Grumpy... but will he stay unglued to the TV? Stay tuned.
p/s: So random yah? Nothing else to talk yet. Busy with work. What else?

Thought I shared something funny...
So.. as mentioned in my last post, my dad inherited my Nokia 6111 phone. Dont know what that looks like? Pls google it up. Too lazy to link it up. Anyway, my dad, the technologically impaired asked me how to use the phone.
I just said, to pick up a call, press the
green button then to hang up, press the
red button.
But I am
color blind.GAAAAAAHHH
Back to square one.
So how does a color blind pick up calls then?

Beware, i'm going to unleash a super sentimental post.
Because of me being in a neighbouring country, having no internet (the state of no internet is going to end soon.. yay), and the firm is being strict on internet policy, the girls have came up with the mass mailing solution
is a solution (at least I think its a solution)
Typical mails include:
"I'm going to cut my hair today"
or
"Who is up for coffee at 3pm today" Knowing full well I cant beam myself there within 2o mins.
or
Just plain arguing the fact that I cannot be queen. They are just jealous.. I know it
I do appreciate the mass mails AND the blogs (if it's updated) for updates and sometimes I dont feel as though I have not been away. I know it has been 3 months so far. Believe me, it is not all rosy here.
I miss my friends, family comfort and food.
I miss the normal "I'll pick you in 5 mins" impromptu dinners/yumcha sessions/gatherings. Then we would show up in our usual haggardness look and then laugh at each other's pimples while comparing whose is the biggest (Dont we do that Cal?). I miss the normal brain numbing session games we play like naming the next country/food/car begining with the last letter of the previous country/food/car. I miss the usual "I'm SO BORED" then keep quiet for 5 mins then "ITS SO BORED" wash. rinse. repeat. I miss the erratic literati (yahoo games) games we play and yawning while we wait for a certain person to make her move so much so we time barred the game every time she is in the game.
I miss not walking 15 mins just to get to a destination. I miss being chauffered everywhere I wanna go or just having the freedom of not having to cramp with other smelly pple on the train. Yes I hate rubbing sweat with other people. Yet Singaporeans treat this as way of life. I shudder to think of moving to Japan.
I miss the normal familiarity of people around me where I dont have to keep guard to whatever I say, after all I am a foreigner/alien here. I've known you girls (and guy) all my life, some to keep in trust, some to confide, some to have fun, some to bug, in totality, you girls (and guy) can make or break me. There is no "so what time u went back last night" or "Are you very busy today?" or other yawnning conversations like "So have you done any bank clients before?" or kissing ass conversations like "Oh that's so nice/clever/good/insert compliment and fake smilehere"
But you know what, I'm coming back for the weekend (yay!).. although some may not make it for the yet again, impromptu gathering.. rest assured, I will be back often... to smuggle money in.

I would have become fat, lazy arsed, lonely, and bankrupt.
That is to say if I have no discipline
la. If I had, I would have just gone bankrupt.
This is because of the wonders of INTERNET. I can buy practically ANYTHING off the internet. That is if I am living in the US. Because international shipping costs kills. Anyway, to prove my point, I compared (credible.. not dodgy and conning websites) websites for shopping CHEAP bags, BECAUSE, bags are my weaknesses.
This is a Malaysian Shopping site:
http://www.moresales.com.my/viewproducttype.shtml?maintype=fashion&producttype=Ladies%20Bag(T_T) sian. I see also I dont want to buy.
US Internet Shopping site:
http://www.amazon.com/Necessary-Objects-West-Satchel-Orange/dp/B000CDLD38/sr=1-26/qid=1157617162/ref=sr_1_26/104-5918929-9998330?ie=UTF8&s=apparelSO CUTE!! I so want this bag. But the shipping costs more than the bag itself.
I havent gotten on to Singapore internet shopping sites yet... I dont have broadband at home mah... hehehehehehe anyone care to recomend me any Singaporean based internet shopping site besides
www.ebay.com.sg cos I hate grovelling and bidding for items that I cannot definetely have.

I dont care what Mr Grumpy says.. but I'm all out to bankrupt myself in March/April in a certain city where sample sales on designer goods/chic stuff are of abundance.
*cue evil laughter*
MWAHAHAHHAHHAHA

Every morning I log on to the internet and check out the Malaysian news. Today is the first day as far as I can remember that the news portal didnt carry news such as people being murdered/rape/robbed/killed/injured/etc.
Now this is shocking!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
On a lighter note:
I was talking to Mr Grumpy about someone in my ex firm resigning and going to Hong Kong. Mind you this was like in the AFTERNOON.
So we agreed to meet up for dinner as always after work. Dinner was at 8pm. In between one could talk about the birds/bees/weather/boss/work/house/future/etc. And during dinner, it was interrupted by choosing meals, deciding what to eat etc. So we eat..
"So what is she going to do with her car?"
WHAT?????? WHO? WHAT CAR???
It is as though he is telephathing my mind with what he was thinking before he blurted that piece out.
"That ex-colleague la.. the car... when she go to HK"
Right.. like how am I supposed to know. Is she my sister or something?!
The joy of communicating.
